Club & live musicLonggang International Art Center龙岗国际艺术中心
Bantian's new 1,501-seat opera house, with theatres, a digital art museum and a flower park
Longgang International Art Center opened on 30 January 2026 in Bantian, in the Banxuegang tech belt in the north of the city. It is a performing-arts complex rather than a club: a 1,501-seat opera hall, a drama theatre of about 550 seats, a 305-seat concert hall and a 700 m² multi-function hall, plus rehearsal rooms and recording studios. The building, designed by the American firm TVS Design with the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design, takes its curves from Chinese instruments such as the pipa, xun and erhu.
The opening night was the first Verbier Festival Shenzhen, the Swiss classical festival's first edition outside Switzerland and the start of a three-year partnership with the city. Since then the programme has mixed big touring dance dramas and musicals, orchestral nights, stand-up and Cantopop or Mandopop concerts. Autumn 2026 includes the dance drama The Eternal Wave (September) and a Lo Ta-yu symphonic concert (November) in the opera hall.
You don't need a ticket to visit. The glass-roofed public lobby, the east plaza and the hillside Shanhua Lanman (Mountain Flowers in Bloom) Park are free, and the 17,000 m² D+ Digital Art Museum in the same complex charges separately. For Longgang and Bantian residents it means you no longer have to cross the city to Futian for a ballet or a musical.
