Shenzhen Universiade Stadium深圳大运中心体育场
Shenzhen's 60,000-seat stadium in Longgang, home of the city's biggest stadium tours
The Universiade Stadium (大运中心体育场) is the largest stadium in Shenzhen, built in Longgang for the 2011 Summer Universiade. Designed by the German firm gmp, it is the biggest of three faceted 'crystal' buildings around a lake, next to the 18,000-seat arena and the aquatics centre.
It holds just over 60,000 people and is where the city's biggest pop tours land. Mayday played three nights here in July 2023 to about 48,000 a night, Xue Zhiqian had a run of shows in August 2026, and G.E.M. is in the middle of a 12-night residency running from September into early October 2026. It also hosted men's U18 and U20 football at the 15th National Games in 2025, after an upgrade that added new LED screens and improved accessibility.
Getting in and out is the main challenge: it is far from the centre, and at big shows tens of thousands of people leave at the same time.
