What a sound bath is, what to expect the first time, and how to find one in English — singing bowls, gongs and guided relaxation.

No sound baths are listed right now. We only list sessions with a date and a source we can check — most studios post theirs on WeChat. Here's how to find one, or tell us about a session we should list.
Moon & season calendar · 月历
Moon circles and full-moon sound baths run on the night of the full moon or the weekend nearest it, and some gong baths mark the solstice. These are the dates, in Shenzhen time. Next full moon: in 16 days.

All of these are lie-down-and-listen — they differ in volume, length and setting. Each card says whether it suits a first visit.
Lie down under a blanket while singing bowls, chimes and gongs are played around the room.
RestorativeLouder and more immersive than bowls — you feel it through the floor. Try a bowl session first.
RestorativeFrosted quartz bowls with a pure, sustained tone. Often paired with guided meditation.
RestorativeA slow flow to loosen up, then you lie down for a 20–30 minute sound bath.
GentleSeated, shorter and quieter than a full sound bath. No mat needed.
RestorativeMonthly evening sessions timed to the full moon: intention-setting, tea and a long sound bath.
RestorativeA sound bath is a lying-down relaxation session. A facilitator plays singing bowls, gongs and chimes around the room while you rest. There's nothing to "do" — you don't need to meditate properly, and dozing off is completely normal.
Shoes off, phone on silent, pick a mat. Tell the facilitator if it's your first time.
Blanket, bolster under your knees, eye pillow. A few minutes of slow breathing.
Sound rises and falls in waves. The gong peak is the loudest part — it passes.
A slow return, warm tea, optional sharing. Nobody has to talk.
Sound baths are a relaxation practice, not a medical treatment. Nothing on this page is medical advice — if you have a health condition, talk to your doctor first.

Shekou
An English-language healing studio on a Shekou rooftop garden: sound baths with crystal bowls and gongs (including an aerial version in silks), breathwork, cacao ceremonies, yoga nidra, yoga and women's circles.
Weekly timetable: not posted yet. Teach here? Post your classes (times, level, language) and newcomers can book the right one.
Post the timetable →Most sound baths in Shenzhen are only advertised in Chinese apps. This is how to find them.
Most sessions are only posted on WeChat and Xiaohongshu (小红书). Search 颂钵 (singing bowl) or 音疗 (sound session) with your district — 南山 颂钵, 福田 音疗.
Shenzhen Daily's weekly Expat Explorer column rounds up English-friendly events, and sound-healing posters with times and prices turn up there.
EyeShenzhen →Studios that teach restorative or yin yoga often run sound sessions too. Ask for 音疗 or 颂钵 when you book a trial class.
Run a sound bath or been to a good one? Send us the date, place and price and we'll list it here.

The Garden, a rooftop healing studio in Shekou, runs sound baths with crystal bowls and gongs (plus an aerial sound bath), all in English. It doesn't publish a weekly timetable: you book a group or private session through its website or WeChat, and it sends the address when you book. Other sessions are mostly advertised on WeChat and Xiaohongshu — search 颂钵 or 音疗.
There's no standard price. Real examples we've seen: ¥88 for The Garden's online full-moon sound healing (2026), and ¥150 a session or ¥1,300 for ten at a Futian studio (early 2025). Always confirm when you book.
Loose, warm clothes and socks. You'll lie still for an hour and most rooms are air-conditioned. Mats, blankets and eye pillows are usually provided.
No. It's a relaxation practice. Many people find it calming, but it isn't a substitute for medical care — if you're pregnant, have epilepsy, an implant or severe sound sensitivity, check with your doctor and tell the facilitator.
At The Garden every session is in English. Elsewhere many facilitators speak mostly Chinese — but a sound bath is mostly lying still and listening, so you can follow along either way. The phrases above help.
We only list sessions with a date and a source we can check, and most studios post theirs on WeChat. If you run one or go to one, tell us through the submit page and we'll add it.
