It depends on the room. Do I need business cards in Shenzhen?
Bring some. They're still exchanged, especially with Chinese companies and at chamber events. But WeChat is how people actually stay in touch, so have your QR code ready.
Can I go to a chamber of commerce event if I'm not a member?
Often, yes. Many chambers open some events to non-members, usually at a higher price — the Danish Chamber's Christmas party, for one, is open to all. The InterChamber mixers, co-hosted by a dozen foreign chambers each spring and autumn, are the easiest way in.
