What is ProPak Shenzhen – Shenzhen Food Processing & Packaging Exhibition?
ProPak Shenzhen is the Greater Bay Area offshoot of ProPak China, the Shanghai processing and packaging show that Sinoexpo Informa Markets has run for three decades. The Shenzhen show started in 2024, and the 2026 edition is its third. It is one of the shows inside Connexion ShenZhen, Informa's October cluster at Shenzhen World, where it runs alongside HOTELEX Shenzhen (hotels and catering) and the HNC nutrition and health-food show. The organiser gives about 180,000 m², some 2,000 exhibitors and 120,000 expected buyers for the whole cluster. ProPak is the part aimed at factories.
The floor covers the path from raw ingredient to shipping carton. Processing equipment includes machines for drinks, fruit and vegetables, bakery, meat, noodles, soy products, condiments, confectionery and central kitchens. General machinery covers washing, sterilising, drying, cold storage, pumps and valves. Then come liquid and solid filling and packing machines, end-of-line equipment such as cartoning, overwrapping, labelling and coding, and robots, vision and smart warehousing. Packaging materials range from films, pouches and trays to glass, metal and moulded pulp. For 2026 the organiser names Fengchuang (die-cutting), Guanyi (aseptic filling for milk and juice), Sitaiyu (overwrapping), Chaoqiang (metal and X-ray foreign-body detection) and several hundred other mostly Chinese companies. The 2025 list included Youngsun, APS Intelligent Packaging, Alpha-Pack and BORUNTE robots.
Most visitors come from Guangdong's food, drink, dairy, condiment, health-food and ready-meal makers, along with contract packers and e-commerce and logistics firms. The organiser also lists home-appliance and 3C electronics companies among its buyers, which reflects how much of Shenzhen's packaging demand comes from non-food goods. The October date is chosen to fall in food companies' budget season and close to the autumn Canton Fair. Connexion offers overseas buyers a package that combines the two trips.
The forums are practical and in Chinese. The 2026 list covers dairy branding and packaging, food safety and green processing, functional-food packaging, AI and robotics for food plants (run with the Guangdong food and packaging machinery association), low-carbon compliance, and cost cutting in food manufacturing.
For a food brand or packaging buyer in South China, ProPak Shenzhen is a convenient place to see Chinese-made packing lines, many of them built by Guangdong companies, before planning factory visits.
Why go
- See Chinese-made filling, wrapping, cartoning, labelling and inspection machines for food, drinks and consumer goods
- Source packaging materials such as films, pouches, trays and moulded pulp from Guangdong suppliers
- HOTELEX Shenzhen and the HNC health-food show run alongside it in the same Connexion ShenZhen cluster
- Timed just before the autumn Canton Fair, so overseas buyers can combine the two trips
- Free tickets with online pre-registration
Our take
Walk the ProPak halls first, then use the same trip to look at HOTELEX's catering equipment and the health-food show nearby. Many exhibitors are Guangdong companies from Foshan, Dongguan, Guangzhou or Shenzhen, so if you are close to ordering, ask about a factory visit.
Go if you're

- Packaging engineers and buyers at consumer-goods, personal-care, pharma and 3C companies
- Contract packers, e-commerce and logistics operators
- Overseas buyers heading to the autumn Canton Fair

Flying in? The visitor guide
What international buyers ask us most, in one place.
Many passports get 30 days visa-free, and 55 nationalities can use 240-hour visa-free transit via Shenzhen when flying on to a third country. Check your eligibility before booking.
Link a Visa or Mastercard to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly — booths, taxis and canteens rarely take cards. Keep ¥500 cash for samples.
Get a roaming eSIM: Google, WhatsApp and Gmail don't work on hotel or venue Wi-Fi. Suppliers will ask for your WeChat, not your email.
Pre-register, bring your passport to collect the badge, and pack 200 business cards. Photograph each card next to the booth number — you'll forget by day two.
Hall English is patchy outside the big brands. A freelance interpreter costs ¥800–1,500 a day; book a week ahead for big fairs.
Don't carry 40 kg home. SF Express and DHL counters sit in the main lobbies and will ship samples door to door from about ¥200.
Hotels on site sell out months ahead. Bao'an Center or Qianhai are 25–30 min away with far more choice.
- Wear proper walking shoes — 20k steps a day is normal.
- Taxi queues after 5pm are brutal; walk to Shenzhen World North station or book a Didi for 4:30pm.
- Food courts sit along the central corridor; the ones at the far ends are quieter.
