What is ITES Shenzhen International Industrial Manufacturing Technology & Equipment Exhibition?

ITES, known locally as the Shenzhen Industrial Show (深圳工业展) and formerly under the SIMM machinery-show name, is the first big manufacturing-equipment fair on China's calendar each year. It was founded in 2000, is run by the Shenzhen firm Huanyue Convention & Exhibition with guidance from the city's industry and IT bureau, and takes over most of Shenzhen World in Bao'an for four days in late March. The 2027 edition is the 28th.

The show is organised as a group of themed halls rather than one big floor. The high-end equipment halls carry five-axis and gantry machining centres, precision CNC, EDM and grinding machines, metrology and tooling. Other halls cover precision parts and contract manufacturing, sheet-metal, tube, stamping and welding equipment, core technologies such as CNC systems, drives, sensors and industrial software, and automation, which takes in loading, sorting, polishing, vision inspection and industrial humanoid robots. Hall 1 hosts an air-compression and vacuum technology show, and there is a medical-device supply-chain section. At the 2026 show the organiser pointed to machines from Yamazaki Mazak, Makino, Tsugami and Beijing Jingdiao, and to an industrial embodied-AI zone with robots from ROKAE, FANUC, Leju, Dobot and AgiBot.

The visitors are production, process and purchasing people from the Pearl River Delta's electronics, automotive, new-energy and medical-device plants. The organiser counted more than 120,000 trade visitors in 2026, and it names buying teams from OPPO, vivo, Foxconn, Luxshare, BYD and Huawei, plus buyers from Japan, Korea, Germany and Thailand. Many come to compare machines for parts that are hard to make: robot reducers and joints, foldable-phone hinges, liquid-cooling plates for AI servers and battery structures.

ITES pairs the halls with a heavy conference programme. In 2026 the organiser reported 80-plus themed forums, and for 2027 it runs advanced-manufacturing series on semiconductor equipment, aerospace, new-energy vehicles, AI servers, embodied intelligence, electronics manufacturing and medical devices. It also promotes 100-plus product launches a year.

For a foreign buyer or engineer, ITES is the quickest way to get a view of Chinese and imported machine tools and automation in one place, a short drive from the factories that use them.

Why go

  1. See five-axis, precision CNC, EDM, grinding and sheet-metal machines from Japanese, German, Taiwanese and Chinese builders under one roof
  2. Find contract manufacturers and precision-parts suppliers for robot, AI-server, automotive and medical components
  3. Industrial embodied-AI zone with humanoid and collaborative robots doing loading, handling, inspection and assembly
  4. A dense forum programme on semiconductors, aerospace, NEVs, AI servers, robotics, electronics and medical devices
  5. Free entry with pre-registration, with Saturday opening on the last day

Our take

Four days of machinery takes a lot of walking. Use the themed halls to plan: machine tools are in Halls 5, 7 and 8, precision parts in Hall 6, automation in Hall 4, and sheet metal in Hall 2. The last day is a Saturday with a 15:00 close, so do serious supplier meetings earlier in the week.

Go if you're

  • Production, process and purchasing engineers from electronics, automotive, new-energy and medical-device factories
  • Buyers of precision parts and contract machining
  • Robot, AI-server and consumer-electronics makers looking for component suppliers
  • Sheet-metal, stamping and welding shops upgrading equipment
  • Overseas buyers from Japan, Korea, Germany and Southeast Asia

Flying in? The visitor guide

What international buyers ask us most, in one place.

Visa-free entry

Many passports get 30 days visa-free, and 55 nationalities can use 240-hour visa-free transit via Shenzhen when flying on to a third country. Check your eligibility before booking.

Paying for things

Link a Visa or Mastercard to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly — booths, taxis and canteens rarely take cards. Keep ¥500 cash for samples.

Staying online

Get a roaming eSIM: Google, WhatsApp and Gmail don't work on hotel or venue Wi-Fi. Suppliers will ask for your WeChat, not your email.

Badge & business cards

Pre-register, bring your passport to collect the badge, and pack 200 business cards. Photograph each card next to the booth number — you'll forget by day two.

Interpreters

Hall English is patchy outside the big brands. A freelance interpreter costs ¥800–1,500 a day; book a week ahead for big fairs.

Samples & shipping

Don't carry 40 kg home. SF Express and DHL counters sit in the main lobbies and will ship samples door to door from about ¥200.

Where to stay near Shenzhen World

Hotels on site sell out months ahead. Bao'an Center or Qianhai are 25–30 min away with far more choice.

  • Wear proper walking shoes — 20k steps a day is normal.
  • Taxi queues after 5pm are brutal; walk to Shenzhen World North station or book a Didi for 4:30pm.
  • Food courts sit along the central corridor; the ones at the far ends are quieter.
