Built for the 2011 Summer Universiade, Shenzhen Bay Sports Center wraps a stadium, an indoor arena and a swimming centre under one white steel lattice that locals call the Spring Cocoon (春茧).

It's where many of the big concerts happen, but you don't need a ticket to enjoy it: the plaza and the Shenzhen Bay promenade outside are one of the best sunset walks in the city, and Talent Park is a short stroll away.
