What is WESEMiBAY Semiconductor Ecosystem Expo?
WESEMiBAY (湾芯展, "Bay Chip Expo") is Shenzhen's own semiconductor show. It was created under the city's "one industry cluster, one expo" policy. The Shenzhen Semiconductor and IC Industry Alliance and the state-owned Shenzhen Major Industry Investment Group organise it, Shenzhen Xinmeng Exhibition runs it, and China International Engineering Consulting Corporation provides guidance. It is held at the Futian Convention & Exhibition Center in central Shenzhen, not the Bao'an venue. The organizers pitch it as a way into the Greater Bay Area's planned wafer fabs and their equipment and materials budgets.
The show is organised around the chip-making chain. There are zones for wafer-fab equipment (etch, deposition, metrology), materials and components such as pumps, valves and vacuum parts; compound semiconductors (SiC, GaN, GaAs, gallium oxide, diamond); advanced packaging, including glass substrates and TGV; and, in 2026, IC design alongside AI infrastructure such as AI chips, servers, liquid cooling and green computing.
The 2025 edition had more than 600 exhibitors and over 112,300 visitors. Exhibitors included global toolmakers Applied Materials, Lam Research, KLA, TEL, DISCO, Nikon, Merck, ZEISS and Edwards. They showed alongside Chinese equipment and chip companies such as NAURA, SiCarrier, Piotech, SMEE, China Resources Microelectronics and Huatian. SiCarrier, a Shenzhen toolmaker, drew the biggest crowds with 16 process and metrology tools. Shenzhen's Wanliyan launched a 90 GHz real-time oscilloscope there. Exhibitors released around 2,500 new products, and the organizer said about 5,000 buyers from companies including SMIC, Samsung, SK hynix, YMTC, BYD, Foxconn and DJI took part in one-to-one matchmaking. By October 2025 Applied Materials, KLA, TEL, NAURA, Piotech and ACM Research had already rebooked for 2026.
The WESEMiBAY Semiconductor Conference runs alongside. In 2025 that meant the Chip Conference, the 9th International Advanced Lithography Technology Symposium and more than 30 forums on design, manufacturing, packaging, materials, equipment and investment, with speakers from ASML, Applied Materials and Canon. The annual WESEMiBAY awards are also presented. For people following China's push for home-grown chip equipment, it is the clearest single view of which Chinese toolmakers are competing with the global suppliers, and it sits next to Shenzhen's large IC-design and electronics customer base.
Why go
- See Chinese chip-equipment makers (NAURA, SiCarrier, Piotech, SMEE) next to Applied Materials, KLA, TEL and Lam
- Zones for wafer fab, compound semiconductors, advanced packaging (glass substrates, TGV) and IC design / AI infrastructure
- 30+ forums in 2025, including an advanced lithography symposium
- Supply-demand matchmaking with buyers from fabs and electronics makers (SMIC, Samsung, SK hynix, YMTC and others in 2025)
- Central Futian venue, easy to reach from downtown Shenzhen
Our take
This one is at Futian, not Shenzhen World: the Convention & Exhibition Center stop on Metro Lines 1 and 4 is next to the halls. Pre-register on the official site. It asks for mobile-number verification, so have a phone that can receive Chinese SMS or ask a colleague to register you.
Go if you're
- Fab, packaging and equipment engineers
- Procurement teams sourcing chip equipment, materials and parts
- IC design and AI-hardware companies
- Investors and analysts following China's semiconductor supply chain
Who exhibits

Forums, awards & what else is on
- WESEMiBAY Semiconductor Conference, including the Chip Conference (2025)
- International Advanced Lithography Technology Symposium (9th edition in 2025)
- WESEMiBAY awards (湾芯奖)
- One-to-one supply-demand matchmaking with fab and OEM buyers
- About 2,500 new-product launches by exhibitors (2025)

Flying in? The visitor guide
What international buyers ask us most, in one place.
Many passports get 30 days visa-free, and 55 nationalities can use 240-hour visa-free transit via Shenzhen when flying on to a third country. Check your eligibility before booking.
Link a Visa or Mastercard to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly — booths, taxis and canteens rarely take cards. Keep ¥500 cash for samples.
Get a roaming eSIM: Google, WhatsApp and Gmail don't work on hotel or venue Wi-Fi. Suppliers will ask for your WeChat, not your email.
Pre-register, bring your passport to collect the badge, and pack 200 business cards. Photograph each card next to the booth number — you'll forget by day two.
Hall English is patchy outside the big brands. A freelance interpreter costs ¥800–1,500 a day; book a week ahead for big fairs.
Don't carry 40 kg home. SF Express and DHL counters sit in the main lobbies and will ship samples door to door from about ¥200.
Walk to a dozen business hotels in the CBD, and to the rooftop bars afterwards.
- Enter from the metro level, not the street — the badge desks are underground.
- Lunch: skip the hall canteens and walk 5 min to the malls around Shopping Park.
