What is iTherM Thermal Management Industry Conference & Exposition?
iTherM ("insight Thermal Management") is a conference-plus-expo on keeping electronics, batteries and data centres cool. Its organizer is DT New Materials, a Ningbo-based firm that runs industry platforms for new materials and also organises the Carbontech carbon-materials show. The December 2026 event at Shenzhen World in Bao'an is the 7th edition. The organizer plans about 20,000 m² of exhibits, more than 350 exhibitors and a conference of 2,000+ delegates. In 2026 the brand also held a separate liquid-cold-plate show in Shanghai in June, and the Shenzhen edition in December concentrates on consumer electronics, AI servers, communications and the low-altitude economy.
The floor is organised by layer. The materials zone has metals, ceramics and ceramic substrates, diamond and graphite, thermal-interface materials, phase-change materials, insulation and coolants. The components zone covers fans, heat sinks, heat pipes and vapour chambers, cold plates and pumps. Solution zones cover consumer electronics, data-centre cooling (cold-plate and immersion liquid cooling, CDUs, quick connectors), and EV, battery and energy-storage thermal systems. A fourth zone is for production equipment and test instruments: brazing, skiving, sintering, leak testing, thermal analysers and IR imaging. Exhibitors at the 2025 show included the German instrument makers NETZSCH and Linseis, Indium Corporation, the diamond producers Huanghe Whirlwind and SINOMACH Diamond, the thermal-materials firms Boen and HFC, graphene maker Hangzhou Gaoxi, and Shenzhen Xihe, which 3D-prints copper cold plates.
The audience is technical: thermal and mechanical engineers, materials scientists, buyers at device, EV and battery makers, and university researchers. The organizer said a BYD procurement team came to the 2025 show with specific projects to discuss. The event puts extra weight on moving lab results to market, with startup roadshows, new-product launches and investor matchmaking.
The conference is a major part of iTherM. In 2025 it had forums on thermal science, radiative cooling, thermal-interface materials, carbon-based materials, thermal design and simulation, consumer electronics, batteries and data-centre cooling. Academics from Tsinghua, HUST, Tianjin University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences served as advisers and session chairs. For Shenzhen's phone, wearable, drone and AI-server makers, heat is now a design limit, and this is a focused place to find TIM, vapour-chamber and liquid-cooling suppliers and to hear the research behind them.
Why go
- Find suppliers of thermal-interface materials, vapour chambers, heat pipes, cold plates and liquid-cooling parts in one hall
- A strong conference programme: 20+ concurrent forums and activities on TIMs, radiative cooling, data-centre and battery thermal management
- Test and production equipment (thermal analysers, brazing, skiving, leak testing) next to the materials
- Lab-to-market focus with startup roadshows and new-product launches
- 2026 Shenzhen focus on AI servers, smartphones, wearables and low-altitude aircraft
Our take
Decide first whether you want the conference or just the floor. The conference is the organizer's main product and needs paid registration, while the expo is where the suppliers are. The 2025 show fitted in a single hall (Hall 10), so the floor is compact.
Go if you're
- Thermal and mechanical engineers at electronics, EV, battery and data-centre companies
- Buyers sourcing TIMs, heat pipes, vapour chambers and liquid-cooling parts
- Materials researchers and university labs looking for industrial partners
- Investors following thermal-management startups

Forums, awards & what else is on
- Thermal management conference with 20+ concurrent activities (2025 forums: thermal science, TIMs, radiative cooling, carbon materials, data-centre and battery cooling)
- Startup and innovation roadshows, new-product launches and investor matchmaking
- 2025 edition held alongside the Shenzhen International Liquid Cooling Industry Expo
- iTherMTalks salon series between shows
Days & opening hours
Hours are the organiser's. Last entry is usually 30 minutes before closing, and the last day often closes early.

Flying in? The visitor guide
What international buyers ask us most, in one place.
Many passports get 30 days visa-free, and 55 nationalities can use 240-hour visa-free transit via Shenzhen when flying on to a third country. Check your eligibility before booking.
Link a Visa or Mastercard to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly — booths, taxis and canteens rarely take cards. Keep ¥500 cash for samples.
Get a roaming eSIM: Google, WhatsApp and Gmail don't work on hotel or venue Wi-Fi. Suppliers will ask for your WeChat, not your email.
Pre-register, bring your passport to collect the badge, and pack 200 business cards. Photograph each card next to the booth number — you'll forget by day two.
Hall English is patchy outside the big brands. A freelance interpreter costs ¥800–1,500 a day; book a week ahead for big fairs.
Don't carry 40 kg home. SF Express and DHL counters sit in the main lobbies and will ship samples door to door from about ¥200.
Hotels on site sell out months ahead. Bao'an Center or Qianhai are 25–30 min away with far more choice.
- Wear proper walking shoes — 20k steps a day is normal.
- Taxi queues after 5pm are brutal; walk to Shenzhen World North station or book a Didi for 4:30pm.
- Food courts sit along the central corridor; the ones at the far ends are quieter.
