What is Shenzhen International Dental High-Tech Expo (SDHE)?

SDHE, the Shenzhen International Dental High-Tech Expo (深圳国际口腔展), is a December dental show that mixes a trade exhibition with a large continuing-education programme for dentists. It is organised by the Shenzhen Stomatological Association, the city's dental industry association, the Guangdong Private Dental Association and the International Society of Advanced Dentistry (ISADe), with Guangzhou Rihui Exhibition as the show operator. The first edition was in 2020, and the 2026 show at Shenzhen World is the fifth. The organizers say they want it to become China's answer to Cologne's IDS.

The floor covers the whole dental supply chain. The 2025 exhibitor list includes international brands such as Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Carl Zeiss (surgical microscopes), Kuraray Noritake, KLS Martin, Sunstar (GUM) and Haleon (Sensodyne and Polident). Alongside them are Chinese players such as Angelalign (clear aligners), Fussen (dental CT and intraoral scanners), Woodpecker (ultrasonic and endodontic devices), Sinol (dental units), Bonanga (dental materials) and Meta Medical (endodontic materials). There is also a long tail of Shenzhen, Foshan and Guangzhou makers of handpieces, burs, 3D printers, milling materials, lab zirconia and chairs. Dental-clinic interior designers, sterilisation and water-treatment suppliers, and associations from Hong Kong and Malaysia also take stands.

What sets SDHE apart from a pure trade fair is the academic side. The organizers advertise more than 280 speakers and over 120 sessions. Attendance at lectures is free (hands-on courses excepted), and participants can earn national Class I continuing-education credits. Many sessions are the annual meetings of Shenzhen Stomatological Association committees, covering implantology, periodontics, paediatric and geriatric dentistry and community dentistry. In past years these have been joined by a Bay Area young implantologists' forum, a southern periodontics masters' forum, a dedicated ISADe international session and, in 2026, a Guangdong dentists' case-presentation competition. Dental associations from 21 prefecture-level cities organise group visits, some with free coaches.

The show also has an international side. The organizers say delegations came from more than 20 countries and regions in 2025, including the US, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Macau, and they reported more than 40,000 professional visits over the three days. For a foreign dentist, lab owner or distributor, it is a practical way to see Guangdong's dental manufacturing base, from Foshan's dental-unit and handpiece makers to Shenzhen's digital-dentistry firms, in one place. It also coincides with the Shenzhen International Medical Devices Exhibition in the same venue.

Why go

  1. Free lectures (hands-on courses excepted) with national Class I CME credits, from 280+ speakers
  2. Meet international brands (Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Zeiss, Kuraray Noritake, KLS Martin) and Chinese makers under one roof
  3. Source Guangdong-made dental units, handpieces, burs, 3D printers, zirconia and CAD/CAM materials
  4. An ISADe international session and organised international delegations
  5. Same dates and venue as the Shenzhen International Medical Devices Exhibition

Pre-register on the 深圳国际口腔展 WeChat mini-program before 30 November; you get a QR code for entry and a small gift. Check the session agenda in advance, since the specialty committees run parallel meetings. International visitors can contact the organizers through the ISADe international group.

Flying in? The visitor guide

What international buyers ask us most, in one place.

Visa-free entry

Many passports get 30 days visa-free, and 55 nationalities can use 240-hour visa-free transit via Shenzhen when flying on to a third country. Check your eligibility before booking.

Paying for things

Link a Visa or Mastercard to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly — booths, taxis and canteens rarely take cards. Keep ¥500 cash for samples.

Staying online

Get a roaming eSIM: Google, WhatsApp and Gmail don't work on hotel or venue Wi-Fi. Suppliers will ask for your WeChat, not your email.

Badge & business cards

Pre-register, bring your passport to collect the badge, and pack 200 business cards. Photograph each card next to the booth number — you'll forget by day two.

Interpreters

Hall English is patchy outside the big brands. A freelance interpreter costs ¥800–1,500 a day; book a week ahead for big fairs.

Samples & shipping

Don't carry 40 kg home. SF Express and DHL counters sit in the main lobbies and will ship samples door to door from about ¥200.

Where to stay near Shenzhen World

Hotels on site sell out months ahead. Bao'an Center or Qianhai are 25–30 min away with far more choice.

  • Wear proper walking shoes — 20k steps a day is normal.
  • Taxi queues after 5pm are brutal; walk to Shenzhen World North station or book a Didi for 4:30pm.
  • Food courts sit along the central corridor; the ones at the far ends are quieter.
