What is NEPCON ASIA?

NEPCON ASIA is the big October trade show in Shenzhen for electronics manufacturing: the machines, materials and software that turn bare boards and chips into finished products. RX (Reed Exhibitions) runs it together with MIIT's international cooperation centre and the CCPIT electronics sub-council. It is the flagship of the Industrial Technology World Asia (ITWA) cluster, which fills Halls 9–16 at Shenzhen World in Bao'an.

The core of the show is PCB assembly. That means SMT pick-and-place lines, reflow and wave soldering, inspection (AOI, SPI, X-ray) and dispensing. Around it are smart-factory systems, semiconductor packaging and test, automotive electronics production, display manufacturing and robotics. For 2026 the organizer lists Panasonic, ASMPT, Fuji, Yamaha, Omron, TRI, Koh Young, Kurtz Ersa and Nordson among the exhibitors. The 2025 edition also had Hanwha, Rehm, Tamura, GKG, Unicomp and HIWIN. New for 2026 are a demo zone in Hall 13 for making high-speed optical modules (800G to 3.2T), a live demonstration line for automotive-electronics production, and a computing-power section on data centres, AI chips and servers.

Visitors are production engineers, factory managers and buyers from electronics makers. The organizer counted 68,539 professional visitors in 2025, including 3,498 from overseas, and said delegations came from Midea, TCL, Huawei, BYD and Foxconn. For 2026 it expects about 100,000 m² and 600+ brands for NEPCON itself, and about 180,000 m² for the whole ITWA cluster. Overseas buyers can join the TAP buyer programme, which offers a lounge and pre-arranged meetings with exhibitors, and there are country days and business matchmaking.

The badge also gets you into the co-located shows: VisionChina Shenzhen (machine vision), ROBOTECH (embodied and humanoid robots), S-FACTORY EXPO, Automotive World China, ES SHOW (components), C-TOUCH & DISPLAY and the Film & Tape expo. The organizer promises 40+ forums on 2026 topics such as smart manufacturing, optical communications, AI computing, automotive electronics and Southeast Asian markets. Past editions also held soldering, PCBA design and repair skills competitions. For anyone who builds hardware in the Pearl River Delta, whether in Bao'an, Dongguan or further out, this is the one show where most SMT and inspection vendors are in the same building.

Why go

  1. Compare SMT, soldering, inspection and dispensing equipment from Panasonic, ASMPT, Fuji, Yamaha, Koh Young, Kurtz Ersa and others under one roof
  2. One free trade badge covers Halls 9–16: machine vision, robotics, smart factory, automotive, components and display shows
  3. New in 2026: optical-module manufacturing demo zone (Hall 13) and a live automotive-electronics production demo line
  4. TAP buyer programme and business matchmaking with pre-arranged supplier meetings
  5. 40+ forums on smart manufacturing, AI computing, automotive electronics and overseas markets

Our take

Pre-register online and collect your badge in the South Lobby with your passport. The badge works in Halls 9–16 for all three days. If you need a visa letter, forward your registration confirmation to the organizer, and overseas buyers can apply for the TAP programme to get pre-booked supplier meetings.

Go if you're

  • Production and process engineers running SMT/PCBA lines
  • Factory managers planning automation, inspection or smart-factory upgrades
  • Contract manufacturers and brand owners sourcing equipment in China
  • Overseas buyers using the TAP programme and matchmaking

Flying in? The visitor guide

What international buyers ask us most, in one place.

Visa-free entry

Many passports get 30 days visa-free, and 55 nationalities can use 240-hour visa-free transit via Shenzhen when flying on to a third country. Check your eligibility before booking.

Paying for things

Link a Visa or Mastercard to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly — booths, taxis and canteens rarely take cards. Keep ¥500 cash for samples.

Staying online

Get a roaming eSIM: Google, WhatsApp and Gmail don't work on hotel or venue Wi-Fi. Suppliers will ask for your WeChat, not your email.

Badge & business cards

Pre-register, bring your passport to collect the badge, and pack 200 business cards. Photograph each card next to the booth number — you'll forget by day two.

Interpreters

Hall English is patchy outside the big brands. A freelance interpreter costs ¥800–1,500 a day; book a week ahead for big fairs.

Samples & shipping

Don't carry 40 kg home. SF Express and DHL counters sit in the main lobbies and will ship samples door to door from about ¥200.

Where to stay near Shenzhen World

Hotels on site sell out months ahead. Bao'an Center or Qianhai are 25–30 min away with far more choice.

  • Wear proper walking shoes — 20k steps a day is normal.
  • Taxi queues after 5pm are brutal; walk to Shenzhen World North station or book a Didi for 4:30pm.
  • Food courts sit along the central corridor; the ones at the far ends are quieter.
