What is China (Shenzhen) International Autumn Tea Industry Expo?
The Shenzhen International Tea Expo, run by Shenzhen-based Huajuchen with the city's Tea Culture Promotion Association, is where the Chinese tea trade meets South China's buyers and tea drinkers. It began in 2008 and now runs twice a year at the Futian Convention & Exhibition Center; the autumn edition in December is the bigger year-end show, and the organizer counts both editions in one series (the December 2024 show was the 30th, December 2025 the 32nd). Huajuchen runs tea fairs in about 25 Chinese cities, and Shenzhen is its flagship. In 2026 the city's commerce bureau named the autumn show one of Shenzhen's brand exhibitions for 2023–2025.
The autumn fair fills around 75,000 square metres with about 3,700 booths and 2,000+ exhibitors, according to the organizer. Almost every Chinese tea type is there: Yunnan pu'er, Fujian white tea from Fuding, Wuyi rock tea, Anhua and Guangxi dark teas, Chaozhou Phoenix dancong oolong, Guizhou green tea and Yingde black tea, alongside tangerine-peel pu'er and aged-tea dealers. Producing regions come as government pavilions: in 2024 these included Chaozhou, Nanping (Wuyi), Zunyi, Anhua and Wuyuan. Much of the rest of the floor is teaware, from Jingdezhen porcelain and Yixing zisha teapots made by named potters to tea furniture, packaging and machinery, with a dedicated teaware design exhibition. Exhibitors from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea, Japan and Nepal took part in 2025.
In practice it works as both a trade fair and a huge public tasting. Tea-shop owners, tea-house operators, gift buyers and distributors come to meet factories and set up agency deals; ordinary Shenzhen residents come to taste freely and buy tea and teapots for the New Year and Spring Festival. Local guides in 2024 described tickets as free.
The side programme mixes trade and culture: the Zhongcha Cup tea-king competition awards, tea-art contests, a tea book fair, aged-tea tastings and, in 2025, a Chaozhou gongfu tea conference and a food-and-medicine conference alongside seven linked exhibitions. For foreigners in Shenzhen, it is an easy way into Chinese tea: you can taste dozens of teas side by side, meet producers from the source regions, and compare prices for teaware without a trip to Yunnan or Fujian.
Why go
- Taste pu'er, white, dark, oolong, green and black teas side by side from 2,000+ producers and dealers
- Meet government pavilions from source regions (Chaozhou, Wuyi, Anhua, Yunnan) and set up direct supply or agency deals
- Buy teaware: Jingdezhen porcelain, Yixing zisha pots, tea furniture and packaging
- Stock up on tea gifts before New Year and Spring Festival
- See tea-king competitions, tea-art contests and a dedicated teaware design exhibition
Our take
The show runs five days at the Futian Convention & Exhibition Center (Metro Lines 1 and 4 to Convention & Exhibition Center station). Tasting is part of the experience, so allow a few hours and go with a rough idea of prices before buying tea or teapots. If you want to talk business, a Mandarin speaker helps: most exhibitors are regional producers and dealers.
Go if you're
- Tea-shop, tea-house and café owners sourcing tea and teaware
- Distributors and franchisees looking for tea brands to represent
- Corporate and personal gift buyers before the New Year

Flying in? The visitor guide
What international buyers ask us most, in one place.
Many passports get 30 days visa-free, and 55 nationalities can use 240-hour visa-free transit via Shenzhen when flying on to a third country. Check your eligibility before booking.
Link a Visa or Mastercard to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly — booths, taxis and canteens rarely take cards. Keep ¥500 cash for samples.
Get a roaming eSIM: Google, WhatsApp and Gmail don't work on hotel or venue Wi-Fi. Suppliers will ask for your WeChat, not your email.
Pre-register, bring your passport to collect the badge, and pack 200 business cards. Photograph each card next to the booth number — you'll forget by day two.
Hall English is patchy outside the big brands. A freelance interpreter costs ¥800–1,500 a day; book a week ahead for big fairs.
Don't carry 40 kg home. SF Express and DHL counters sit in the main lobbies and will ship samples door to door from about ¥200.
Walk to a dozen business hotels in the CBD, and to the rooftop bars afterwards.
- Enter from the metro level, not the street — the badge desks are underground.
- Lunch: skip the hall canteens and walk 5 min to the malls around Shopping Park.
