What is IOTE International Internet of Things Exhibition – Shenzhen?
IOTE is China's long-running Internet of Things trade show. It started in June 2009 and is organised by Ulink Media, a Shenzhen IoT trade publisher, with the Shenzhen Internet of Things Industry Association as host. Provincial IoT associations, the China RFID Industry Alliance and the NB-IoT alliance co-organise. The Shenzhen edition is held each August at Shenzhen World in Bao'an. The 2026 edition (the 25th) filled Halls 9–12, about 80,000 m², and the organizer reports 1,000+ exhibitors and 100,000+ visits. The 26th edition is set for 25–27 August 2027. There is also a separate IOTE edition in Shanghai.
The show covers the whole IoT stack, from sensing to network, platform and application. You'll see RFID tags, inlays, readers and test gear, sensors, LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, Cat.1 and Bluetooth modules and gateways, antennas, UWB/BLE AoA and BeiDou positioning, batteries, rugged handhelds and industrial PCs, embedded boards and edge-computing hardware. It also has solutions for logistics, retail, manufacturing, energy and smart cities. Themed areas have multiplied. The 2026 and 2027 layouts include AGIC, a general-AI industry area, ISVE, a smart display systems area, and zones for e-paper, AI toys, AI computing and storage, embedded systems, and digital printing and smart labels. Exhibitors in 2026 included Hisense, Hanvon, Nanfu batteries, MinewSemi, Dragino, Emdoor, CISC Semiconductor, Hana (RFID inlays) and AntennaWare. Hisense chose the show to launch its A10, which it calls the world's first modular 5G E Ink smartphone, with E Ink and Qualcomm on stage.
Visitors are mainly system integrators, solution providers and engineers, plus buyers from logistics, retail, manufacturing, utilities and city-infrastructure projects. The programme is large, with 40+ forums in 2026 on RFID and passive IoT, domestic AI computing, embodied intelligence and high-precision positioning. The IOTE Gold Award for innovative products is presented at the show. For overseas visitors the organizers run free trade-matching meetings, can arrange translators on request, and issue visa invitation letters.
Shenzhen is where much of China's IoT hardware is designed and assembled, from module makers to RFID tag factories and rugged-device ODMs. Much of that supply chain is on this show floor. Go if you need modules, tags, sensors, trackers or ready-made IoT hardware, or want to see how Chinese vendors are adding AI to devices. Registration is free.
Why go
- Source IoT hardware directly: RFID tags and readers, LoRaWAN/NB-IoT/Cat.1/BLE modules, sensors, antennas, trackers, rugged handhelds
- Themed areas for AI (AGIC), smart displays (ISVE), e-paper, AI toys and edge computing in the same halls
- 40+ forums, including RFID/passive IoT, positioning, AI computing and embodied intelligence
- Free registration, free trade-matching meetings, translators on request and visa invitation letters for overseas visitors
- Product launches, such as Hisense's A10 5G E Ink phone at the 2026 show
Our take
Register online, print the admission ticket from your email and swap it for a badge at the service counter. Bring business cards: they're also the fallback if you lose the ticket. The last day ends in the early afternoon, so don't leave meetings until then. If you need a translator or a visa invitation letter, email the organizer well in advance.
Go if you're

Flying in? The visitor guide
What international buyers ask us most, in one place.
Many passports get 30 days visa-free, and 55 nationalities can use 240-hour visa-free transit via Shenzhen when flying on to a third country. Check your eligibility before booking.
Link a Visa or Mastercard to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly — booths, taxis and canteens rarely take cards. Keep ¥500 cash for samples.
Get a roaming eSIM: Google, WhatsApp and Gmail don't work on hotel or venue Wi-Fi. Suppliers will ask for your WeChat, not your email.
Pre-register, bring your passport to collect the badge, and pack 200 business cards. Photograph each card next to the booth number — you'll forget by day two.
Hall English is patchy outside the big brands. A freelance interpreter costs ¥800–1,500 a day; book a week ahead for big fairs.
Don't carry 40 kg home. SF Express and DHL counters sit in the main lobbies and will ship samples door to door from about ¥200.
Hotels on site sell out months ahead. Bao'an Center or Qianhai are 25–30 min away with far more choice.
- Wear proper walking shoes — 20k steps a day is normal.
- Taxi queues after 5pm are brutal; walk to Shenzhen World North station or book a Didi for 4:30pm.
- Food courts sit along the central corridor; the ones at the far ends are quieter.
