Happy Valley Shenzhen深圳欢乐谷
OCT's big theme park: roller coasters, a water park in summer, and each autumn Shenzhen's biggest Halloween festival with haunted houses, parades and night tickets.

OCT's big theme park: coasters, a summer water park and Shenzhen's biggest Halloween
Happy Valley opened in OCT on 1 October 1998, the first park in what became a national chain run by the OCT Group. It covers about 35 hectares next to Window of the World and is laid out in themed zones including Spanish Square, Cartoon City, Gold Mine Town, Shangri-La Woods, Typhoon Bay, Sunshine Beach and the Playa Maya water park.
The draw is thrill rides, shows and parades rather than film characters. A day ticket covers almost every ride and performance; you pay extra only for food and a few add-ons such as bungee. The Playa Maya water park opens in the hot months, and evenings bring light shows and parades. Children under 1.2 metres and anyone aged 70 or over get in free, which makes it an affordable family day.
Autumn is when it matters most to expats. Each year the park turns into Shenzhen's largest Halloween event, with haunted houses, costumed actors and a night parade, and it is a popular group outing for friends and colleagues. In 2026 the Halloween festival runs from 24 September to 22 November, with night sessions from 5pm that are cheaper than a day ticket and easy to reach after work.
What to see and do
Halloween festival 2026
Runs 24 September to 22 November 2026 with ten themed haunted houses, more than 300 costumed actors across seven themed areas, and the returning night parade.
Playa Maya Water Park
A Maya-themed water park inside the main park with slides and a wave pool, open in the summer season only.
Coasters and water rides
Recent additions include a Mack Power Splash water coaster (2019) and the Gold Mine Train family coaster (2023). Check the park map on the day for which rides are running.
Night sessions
Cheaper night tickets let you enter from late afternoon, which is the best way to do the Halloween haunted houses and parades after work.
