MAO Livehouse is one of China's best-known livehouse chains, with venues in more than ten cities. Its Brewtown room (MAO Livehouse深圳（雪花店）) is the brand's second stage in Shenzhen, after the long-running MAO at Sea World in Shekou. It sits on the third floor of Brewtown, a beer-themed complex of about 50,000 m² in Bao'an that China Resources Land and China Resources Beer (the Snow brand) built on the site of an old brewery. Brewtown opened at the end of 2024 with around 120 shops and bars.
The room is a standing livehouse with a ticketed programme, not a bar with a band in the corner. Listings on Showstart lean towards Mandarin singer-songwriters and indie bands, with touring overseas acts and tribute nights in between: recent and upcoming names include Anson Seabra, guitarist Marcin Patrzalek, Hong Kong singer Eman Lam (林二汶), Zheng Xing (郑兴) and the band 傻子与白痴, plus a Taylor Swift songs night.
For anyone living in Bao'an or Qianhai it's a far shorter trip than Shekou, and the beer halls downstairs make it easy to turn a gig into a night out.

- Check which MAO you're going to. Shenzhen has two: this one in Bao'an and MAO Livehouse Shenzhen at Sea World in Shekou. Ticket pages name the branch (雪花店 for Brewtown).
- Eat downstairs in Brewtown before the show; the complex has far more choice than the area around Xingdong station.
- Shows usually start between 19:00 and 20:00 on Showstart listings, so you can normally catch the metro home.
