What is Shenzhen International Medical Devices Exhibition?

The Shenzhen International Medical Devices Exhibition is a December trade fair for medical equipment and consumables at Shenzhen World in Bao'an. It is hosted by the Shenzhen Medical Association together with Shenzhen Juyi Exhibition Service. The organizing group is based in Shanghai and runs medical device shows under similar names in Shanghai and Beijing. For 2026 the theme is "high-end medical care, innovative manufacturing".

The exhibit list is broad and mid-market. It covers imaging (CT, DR, ultrasound, MRI), in-vitro diagnostics and lab consumables, surgical instruments, cardiovascular intervention and ophthalmic equipment, and ward and nursing equipment. There are also rehabilitation aids (wheelchairs, walkers, hearing aids), disinfection and infection-control products, masks, gowns and dressings, and a home-health section: oxygen concentrators, mild hyperbaric chambers, massage chairs, connected blood-pressure and glucose monitors and wearables. At the upstream end are OEM parts for device makers, such as moulds, motors, pumps and valves, sensors, batteries and optics. The organizer runs it alongside themed sections for the health industry, home medical products, elderly care and rehabilitation, and cardiovascular technology.

The organizer aims the show at hospital buyers, distributors and agents, import-export traders, elderly-care and rehabilitation centres, maternity and child hospitals, pharmacies and pharmacy chains, blood stations, disease-control centres and research institutes. For a foreign buyer, the attraction is Shenzhen itself. The city and the neighbouring Pearl River Delta are a major base for medical electronics, monitoring equipment and home-health devices.

Keep your expectations in proportion. The show's website is thin: it publishes no dated exhibitor list or post-show report, its "recommended exhibitors" page is a logo wall of major brands without booth numbers, and its visitor and exhibitor figures are not tied to a specific edition. Several similarly named December medical-device shows in Shenzhen are advertised online by related organizers, so check you are registering for the right one. It is best treated as a sourcing trip for Chinese home-health, rehabilitation, consumables and components suppliers; don't count on meeting a particular multinational brand unless it confirms with you directly. The dental SDHE expo runs at Shenzhen World on the same dates, so dental buyers can combine the two.

Why go

  1. Source Chinese home-health devices (oxygen concentrators, monitors, wearables, massage and therapy equipment) and rehabilitation aids
  2. Meet suppliers of medical consumables, dressings, protective wear and disinfection products
  3. Find OEM components for device makers: moulds, motors, pumps, sensors, batteries and optics
  4. Themed sections for home medical, elderly care and rehabilitation, and cardiovascular technology
  5. Same dates and venue as the SDHE dental expo

Flying in? The visitor guide

What international buyers ask us most, in one place.

Visa-free entry

Many passports get 30 days visa-free, and 55 nationalities can use 240-hour visa-free transit via Shenzhen when flying on to a third country. Check your eligibility before booking.

Paying for things

Link a Visa or Mastercard to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly — booths, taxis and canteens rarely take cards. Keep ¥500 cash for samples.

Staying online

Get a roaming eSIM: Google, WhatsApp and Gmail don't work on hotel or venue Wi-Fi. Suppliers will ask for your WeChat, not your email.

Badge & business cards

Pre-register, bring your passport to collect the badge, and pack 200 business cards. Photograph each card next to the booth number — you'll forget by day two.

Interpreters

Hall English is patchy outside the big brands. A freelance interpreter costs ¥800–1,500 a day; book a week ahead for big fairs.

Samples & shipping

Don't carry 40 kg home. SF Express and DHL counters sit in the main lobbies and will ship samples door to door from about ¥200.

Where to stay near Shenzhen World

Hotels on site sell out months ahead. Bao'an Center or Qianhai are 25–30 min away with far more choice.

  • Wear proper walking shoes — 20k steps a day is normal.
  • Taxi queues after 5pm are brutal; walk to Shenzhen World North station or book a Didi for 4:30pm.
  • Food courts sit along the central corridor; the ones at the far ends are quieter.
