Shenzhen's underground scene makes more sense when you separate venues from promoters. OIL is a club with a fixed address; independent organizers can take over its smaller room or use locations across the city. Follow both the venue and the current event poster.

OIL Club and ROOMTOO
OIL remains Shenzhen's central underground electronic venue in September 2026. Its calendar moves through techno, bass, electro, trance, experimental music and live performance. ROOMTOO is the smaller room for intimate parties, workshops and focused genre nights.
Recent examples show why the lineup matters: a July all-night resident set cost ¥40, a September bass/experimental booking cost ¥128, and events have run anywhere from early evening until 5 a.m.
Promoter-led parties
Promoters can turn hotel pools, parks, beaches and OIL's ROOMTOO into one-off venues. OURS is the clearest example and now has its own guide: our complete OURS Shenzhen guide.
How to choose an underground night
- Read the genres and at least two artist names.
- Confirm whether the listing says Mainroom, ROOMTOO or an off-site venue.
- Buy through the organizer or linked ticket platform.
- Screenshot the Chinese address and entry QR code.
- Plan a DiDi home; late finishes outlast the Metro.
Is OIL closed?
No. A May 2026 visitor found it closed on a Tuesday, but ticketed events ran throughout the following months and the September calendar is active. Clubs do not necessarily open every night.
