Denmark · Post-rock, Instrumental
The Seven Mile Journey are a Danish post-rock band who have been making instrumental music since 1999. Their albums, The Journey Studies (2006), The Metamorphosis Project (2008), Notes for the Synthesis (2011) and Templates for Mimesis (2016), are built on long, gloomy build-ups, dense layers of guitar and sudden dynamic shifts, with track titles that read like chapters of a dark novel. It's music to get lost in rather than dance to. New Noise brings them to Shenzhen; bring earplugs for the crescendos.
