The Chairs (椅子乐团) are a Taipei indie trio, Jin, Zhong and Benson, who play warm, retro-leaning pop with psychedelic touches and sing in Mandarin, English, Hokkien and Japanese. The name came from the IKEA chair they used as percussion when they first rehearsed. Their album Lovely Sunday won Best Vocal Group at Taiwan's Golden Melody Awards in 2019, and they followed it with Real Love Is… (2020), Shangri-La Is Calling (2022) and The Great Escape of Our Time (2023). The tenth-anniversary tour brings two nights to CH8: gentle, sunny guitar pop that works whether or not you catch the lyrics.
