HYPER SLASH (超级斩) are a band from Guangzhou, formed in 2016 by three friends from the music society at Guangdong University of Technology. They call their style 'otaku-core' (宅核): electronicore and alternative rock loaded with video-game and anime references, chiptune-flavoured synths and battle-anthem choruses about fighting to the end. They broke through nationally on the second season of The Big Band (乐队的夏天) in 2020, reaching the final seven, and have since played festivals such as Midi. The tenth-anniversary tour hits HOU LIVE Xiasha: loud, fast and fun even if you don't catch the Chinese lyrics.
