Charles Berthoud is a London-born bassist who turned the electric bass into a YouTube spectacle. He switched from piano to bass at eleven, studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating in 2015, and co-wrote the instructional book Two-Handed Tapping with his teacher Jim Stinnett. Since his first upload in 2013 his channel has become one of the most-watched bass channels online, full of tapping, slapping, piccolo bass and absurd 'extreme bass' experiments, and in 2022 Bass Player magazine gave him its first Rising Star award. The Play With Fire tour is a show built around what one person can do with a bass: fun for musicians and non-musicians alike.
