Shekou Hash House Harriers is the local Shenzhen chapter of the global Hash House Harriers, an informal, grassroots community of social runners and walkers known for combining non-competitive trail runs with socialising and drinks — humorously described as “a drinking club with a running problem.” Founded in 1984, the Shekou group meets every Saturday in Shekou’s SeaWorld area and organises weekly outings involving a bus-assisted trail run or walk followed by refreshments and camaraderie. There’s no formal membership required — anyone can join simply by showing up — and the organiser team (‘MisManagement,’ in Hash tradition) keeps the spirit fun, relaxed, and inclusive for locals and expats alike.
