Brass House is our number-one expat bar in Shenzhen. It has the combination that matters most to a newcomer: a genuinely mixed international and local crowd, bar seating, sport, regular community events and owners who have spent years building a social hub rather than a tourist theme pub.
Sea World remains the easiest district for trying several international bars in one night. Brass House is the better single destination when the goal is actually meeting people.

On Rednote, searching the venue's English name together with 深圳 is still useful for recent customer videos, but those search results should not be mistaken for an official account.
Brass House is a Brazilian-Dutch community and sports bar inside Shuiwei 1368 Cultural Block. Expect cold draught beer, Brazilian and Dutch snacks, football and Formula 1 on big screens, hip-hop and pop, plus networking nights, language exchanges, art events and parties.
Recent activity confirms that it is not surviving on an old reputation. Brass House hosted a Brazilian carnival through Shuiwei in March 2026 and celebrated its eighth anniversary with DJs and a packed community party on 4 July. A July firsthand recommendation described it as lively on weekend nights while still feeling more like a small pub than a nightclub—which is exactly why it works for meeting people.

Go between 8:30 and 11 p.m. on Friday or Saturday for the social crowd, or choose a listed match or event when you want an automatic conversation starter.
Craft Head is the laid-back Xinzhou choice: house-brewed beer and cider, burgers, a second-floor terrace and the kind of weekly programming that turns a bar into a local community. Its current calendar includes a Thursday pub quiz and Saturday open mic, while recent June and July 2026 firsthand posts repeatedly describe it as an expat-heavy “home bar.”
It is less polished than a hotel bar and much less nightclub-like than COCO Park. That is the point. Come when you want a pint, conversation and a realistic chance of recognizing people on your second visit.

Revolucion Cocktail brings a more energetic, Latin-leaning night to Central Walk. It begins as a cocktail bar and becomes a dancing-and-party venue, with themed nights, bar shows and a crowd that is more international than the average Futian mall bar. Recent local discussion recommends it for international music, while its recurring Wednesday programme mixes salsa and bachata with reggaeton, merengue and cha-cha-cha.
This is where to go when Brass House or Craft Head sounds too pub-like but a full nightclub still feels like too much.

Best for: Dancing, Latin nights, cocktails and late weekends.
Tiger’s Den is built around sport and community: a giant screen, pool table, happy hour, open mic, trivia and recurring international meet-ups. Recent 2026 posts show it screening major football and NBA games and hosting a free Thursday Chinese-language corner for expats.
Important: Tiger’s Den is moving location again. Do not publish an old street address as current. Follow its WeChat contact and confirm the new location before visiting; the previous Xiangmihu/Futian listing should be treated as historical until the move is complete.
Best for: Big matches, language exchange, casual meet-ups and regular community nights.
The Terrace is Sea World's dependable live-music bar: indoor-outdoor seating, a full dinner menu, cocktails and a band every night from around 9:30–10 p.m.

Best for: Live music, groups and a first night in Shekou.
George & Dragon is the classic British-pub option, with draught beer, pub food, Premier League screenings, quizzes and community events. Its current directory listing places it at Shop 29 on Sea World's International Bar Street.

Best for: Football, a pint and meeting long-term Shenzhen residents.
Recent August 2026 local discussion repeatedly names Flames, George & Dragon and The Terrace among Shekou's established foreign-managed or international venues. Walk the plaza and check the atmosphere instead of treating any one bar as mandatory.
Kings Bar is a useful non-Shekou option for sports and an international crowd near Bao'an Stadium. It becomes especially relevant during major football tournaments; June 2026 watch-party discussions specifically reported it showing matches.
Start at Brass House and sit at the bar rather than taking a table. Arrive between 8 and 10 p.m., when people can still talk, and choose a night with a party or major match. Sea World is the backup when you would rather wander between several venues.
An English menu does not guarantee a social crowd. The useful signs are recurring community events, sports screenings, bar seating and staff who know regulars. Sea World's older independents perform better on those criteria than a random hotel lounge.
