Temples — the UK psych-rock four-piece from Kettering — return to China for a Shenzhen headline show on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at MAO Livehouse Sea World. Catch the «Shimmer in the Dark» era live in Nanshan for one night only.
Temples are James Bagshaw (vocals, guitar), Tom Warmsley (bass), Adam Smith (keyboards) and Rens Riksen (drums). They exploded onto the British indie scene in 2012 with the single «Shelter Song» — a six-string raga-pop anthem that landed them on BBC Radio 6Music’s A-list before they had even released a full album. Their 2014 debut Sun Structures cemented their reputation as one of the most distinctive British psych-rock bands of the decade, blending 60s jangle, 70s space-rock and modern shoegaze textures. Their most recent album Exotico (2023) saw them widen their palette with Latin rhythms, glitter-pop hooks and a more cinematic production style, while 2025’s standalone single «Day of the Lords» previewed the band’s next era.
Signature songs likely on the Shenzhen setlist:
