About New Pants

Founded in 1996 in Beijing, New Pants (新裤子) is one of the longest-running and most influential Chinese rock/punk/new-wave bands, with a career spanning nearly 30 years. Frontman Peng Lei (彭磊) is also a celebrated visual artist and the voice behind the beloved animated character Duck Gull. Their hits include «You Are the One I Love Most» (你要跳舞吗), «A Wave Is Coming» (浪潮来临的时候), «North Sea Monster» (北海怪兽), and «No Sex, No Self» (没有理想的人不伤心). After their breakout season on The Big Band reality show in 2019, they became a household name in China.
