March Silent Book Club Meeting

Shenzhen has not yet decided that it wants to be summer, so we’re taking the opportunity to take Silent Book Club outside: picnic edition!!!

All your fave parts of Silent Book Club (cool people! books! reading!) will still be around, but this time We Outside! Bring your books, bring your snacks, bring your sunscreen and come ready to hang out and get your year's dose of vitamin D!  

What is Silent Book Club?

At Silent Book Club, there's no assigned reading. All readers are welcome—ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books... it's BYOBook. Our events are free and support local businesses. Friends and strangers gather at a set time and location, order food or drinks, share what they're reading, and settle in for an hour or so of sustained silent reading. At the end of the hour, attendees can socialize—or not!

A typical silent book club includes around 30 minutes of welcoming and getting settled, 45 mins-1 hour of silent reading time, and then time at the end to hang out, socialize, or keep reading!

You'll get a healthy dose of socializing and getting to be anti-social. We all need that kind of balance in life.
