This April, Friko released their second full-length album, "Something Worth Waiting For." Just as the title suggests, the record unfolds slowly, like a long-awaited spring arrival. This four-piece indie band from Chicago made a strong impression with their 2024 debut, carrying forward the rich spirit of Midwest indie rock from the turn of the millennium β raw, cracked vocals, gentle and expansive string arrangements, and a sincere, emotionally charged vintage indie texture.
On this follow-up, Friko fully amplifies their dramatic indie aesthetic, with hazy, tender string arrangements and refined production adding new depth to the band's emotional expression.
