Area Map
Shenzhen does not have one nightlife centre. Choose the district by the night you want: COCO Park for a busy, easy-to-navigate club crawl; OIL for underground electronic music; Sea World for English-friendly pubs and live bands; OCT-LOFT for concerts; and Shenzhen Bay for jazz, rooftops and dates.
| Area | Best for | Metro search | When to go |
|---|---|---|---|
| COCO Park / Shopping Park | Mainstream clubs, hip-hop and bar hopping | 购物公园站 | Friday or Saturday after 10:30 p.m. |
| Chegongmiao / OIL | Techno, bass and experimental electronic music | 下沙站 then DiDi | Check the specific event |
| Sea World / Shekou | Expat pubs, conversation and nightly live music | 海上世界站 | Dinner through midnight |
| OCT-LOFT | Ticketed bands and alternative live music | 华侨城创意文化园 | Show nights only |
| Shenzhen Bay / Houhai | Jazz, cocktails and skyline dates | 后海站 | 7 p.m. onward |
The north side of Futian COCO Park and the neighbouring Shopping Park streets hold Shenzhen's most concentrated nightlife strip. Recent visitors still describe 20-plus open-air bars and several clubs within a compact area. Sauce Club, Orangutan Bunker, SOLO and the new PLAY X complex represent different versions of the mainstream club night.
Come on Friday or Saturday. Multiple April–August 2026 visitor reports say the area can feel quiet on weekdays. Walk the strip before committing to a venue, ask the cover price and confirm whether a table minimum applies.
OIL is Shenzhen's essential music-first electronic club. September 2026 listings include bass, experimental music, techno and live electronics, with the smaller ROOMTOO space used for more focused events.

Do not show up because a generic guide calls it a techno club. Read that night's lineup. OIL can move from techno to bass, trance, experimental live music or a workshop within the same week.
Sea World is the most forgiving choice for a solo visitor or a group that wants to talk. The Terrace has nightly live music, George & Dragon covers the British-pub experience, and the plaza provides enough alternatives to change plans on foot.
It is more restaurant-and-pub oriented than COCO Park. Start with dinner, watch the plaza lights, then choose live music or a pub rather than expecting a giant dance district.
Check B10 Live for ticketed indie and touring artists. For a seated night, LAVO Jazz · Funk · Soul at Shenzhen Bay publishes daily live-performance programming and combines it with tapas and a terrace. Sea World's Terrace is the straightforward live-band choice when you do not want to buy a concert ticket.
Some of Shenzhen's best events do not belong to a fixed club. OURS programs house, progressive, melodic and underground electronic parties in changing venues. Its August 2026 beach event ran from a sunset session at SENSEA to an afterparty at Mooon Beach Club.
Follow the promoter, then navigate to the address on the current ticket. Never reuse the location from a previous OURS party.
COCO Park is easiest for club hopping. Sea World is best for expat-friendly bars, while OIL is the strongest choice for underground electronic music.
Yes. Current listings show OIL events in September 2026 and later. A venue can be closed on a quiet weekday without being permanently closed.
Sea World is easiest for conversation. Choose COCO Park when you want a crowded dance night and OIL when the music matters more than meeting an expat crowd.
